At MIMLab (Nakashima Lab), Department of Intelligent Media, SANKEN (The Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research), The University of Osaka, we conduct research to investigate whether artificial intelligence truly understands the meaning of images and videos. We believe that understanding the semantics of visual content is deeply connected to its alignment with natural language, and thus we are extensively engaged in research related to Vision and Language, which integrates visual media and natural language. We are also conducting applied research utilizing advanced image and video processing techniques, including the use of large language models.
At MIMLab, we welcome students who are enthusiastic about conducting research in image and video understanding or generation. For more details, please see here.
We are also eager to engage in collaborative research with companies, universities, and other research institutions. If you are interested, please contact us via the email address here.
